I’ve been knee-deep in code for the past month, and in the process I’ve refined my proverbial code pipeline and learned heaps about what it’s really like to build line-of-business WPF applications with Visual Studio 2008.
So I’m excited to have the chance to talk WPF and Silverlight at ObjectSharp’s “VS2008 at the Movies” event on Thursday February 7th. The event takes place at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto, and I’ll be there all day with fellow ObjectSharp consultants, whose presentations will cover Visual Studio 2008 topics ranging from LINQ to VSTS.
The goal is the event is to give an honest view of what’s new, what you’ll appreciate, and what’ll need to know as you migrate your .NET development to Visual Studio 2008. It should be a very interesting day and I’m really looking forward to my colleagues’ presentations!
I’ve been preparing a series of blog entries on what I’ve learned about WPF over the past few weeks, and now, with the talk coming up, my job becomes to turn what I’ve learned into an interesting presentation.
Although it’s free, I understand the event is booking up quickly, so if you’re a .NET developer in the Toronto area, head over to the registration page. Hope to see you there!
p.s. mad props to O# designer Nick VanExen for his series of clever movie posters promoting the “At the Movies” event! Here’s another one in Barry’s blog, and even more at Rob Windsor’s blog.

Hi Rob,
Greate to hear that you’ve been deep into code latley. Nothing is like getting back to code after beeing away for some time…
I just arrived in Melbourne after 16 days in Thailand/Singapore. Had 21 greate dives (16 in Similan and 5 in Phi Phi). Pictures/story over at my blog… I’m spending a year down under working at the Capgemini Melbourne office. Can’t wait to get back to writing code again
Didn’t know you started working for ObjectSharp, congrats on that
Later!
