I’ve had a couple of people tell me that messages from my new email address, sent from the domain robburke.net, have been caught as spam by their company spam filters. I suspect this is an unexpected consequence of using the otherwise very handy Windows Live Custom Domains to host my mail.
Does anyone know any techniques for encouraging a large number of spam filters to treat my new address with a little more respek?

Rob,
Have you set up a senderID on the domain yet, not having that set can create problems as many ISP’s make the (incorrect) assumption that mail relayed from IP’s registered to WLCD will always have a valid senderID. Follow the guide @ http://weblog.maximumasp.com/archive/2006/10/6/Windows-Live-Custom-Domains.aspx to set it if you’ve not done so yet.
Thanks for that Cathal. I just checked with my hoster’s control panel (godaddy) and I did set up that txt record when I set up the domain forwarding. So hopefully that will help things eventually.
I wasn’t sure if there are any other places on the web I can somehow register myself as an nonspammer.
